How Wyatt Johnson Subaru Continues to Serve the Clarksville Community

At Wyatt Johnson Subaru, our commitment to the community goes beyond providing exceptional service to drivers in Clarksville and beyond; it’s about making a tangible difference in the lives of our neighbors. On January 17, 2025, we had the privilege of partnering with the Salvation Army to host a heartwarming event that exemplifies this commitment: a shoe and sock giveaway benefiting local children in need.

Our Mission

Understanding the challenges that many families face during the winter months, we organized an event to distribute 204 pairs of brand-new children’s shoes, each accompanied by two pairs of cozy socks. The atmosphere at our dealership was filled with joy and gratitude. Families were able to select footwear for their little ones, ensuring they had the essentials to stay warm and comfortable.

The Subaru Love Promise in Action

As a recipient of the 2024 Subaru Love Promise Community Commitment Award, the staff at Wyatt Johnson Subaru is proud to take part in Subaru’s Love Promise, a vision dedicated to supporting and improving our communities.

As our Executive Assistant and Subaru Love Promise Coordinator, Sonja Harrell, articulated, “It is one of the pillars of Subaru Love. It’s where we give back to the community. With it being winter, a lot of families may not have the resources to get shoes or coats, items to keep them warm. So it’s very important to us that we are somewhere they can come for help.”

Collaborating With the Salvation Army for Greater Impact

Our collaboration with the Clarksville Corps of the Salvation Army was instrumental in the success of this event. Their dedication to serving those in need aligns seamlessly with our own mission.

General Manager Lindsay Perales highlighted the strength of this partnership, stating, “We partner each year with Salvation Army, and next year we’ll be giving out jackets.”

Operation Warm: More Than Just Shoes

Our efforts are further amplified through our association with Operation Warm, a national nonprofit that manufactures high-quality coats and shoes for children in need. Their mission is to provide more than just physical warmth; they aim to boost the confidence and emotional well-being of children, fostering a sense of hope and community connection.

Looking Ahead: Continuing the Tradition of Giving

The success of this event has only strengthened our resolve to continue supporting our community. Plans are already underway for next year’s initiative, where we will expand our efforts to include the distribution of jackets, ensuring that more children are equipped to face the colder months with confidence and warmth. However, our efforts don’t stop there.

Wyatt Johnson Subaru’s Military Incentive Program and College Grad Program further demonstrate our commitment to the Clarksville community by supporting those who serve our country and empowering recent graduates as they take their next steps toward success.
